Excellent facilities, including specialist teaching areas, a well-equiped ICT suite, new libraries, a new infant play terrace and a large sports field, enable us to educate to the highest standard.

Our methods of teaching are adjusted to best complement the needs of the maturing pupil. Younger children benefit from the skills of an established all-round class teacher with whom they can identify, with the addition of specialist teaching areas and classroom assistants to vary educational and recreational content. Older pupils are based in classes with established well-motivated teaching staff who have individual subject specialisms.

We offer a good variety of school visits linked to the curriculum. Artists, poets and authors are regular visitors to the school. Social events include summer and autumn fairs and family events organised by the Friends of Carleton School. There are various after-school activities enabling our pupils to develop their extra-curricular interests and abilities.
