We believe in giving our pupils a positive, happy stimulating environment in which they can learn most effectively. We promote a Christian ethos with sound moral values, encouraging care and respect for fellow pupils, members of staff and the community in general. We effectively deliver the National Curriculum to individual pupils, whatever their ability.
The whole school subscribes to a positive attitude towards gender, equality, cultural diversity and the special needs of all kinds. Each child is seen as an individual made in the image of God. In this way children are given equal access to the whole curriculum. They are encouraged to make the most effective use of their skills and talents. Self respect and respect for others are actively promoted. Prejudice and discrimination in the treatment of others is positively discouraged. The full policy for equal opportunities is available for inspection in school. We also believe that our children should not just be statistics.
We aim to:
-
Provide each child with a broad and balanced curriculum offering first hand experience where appropriate to the child’s learning,
-
Provide a safe, caring and happy environment based on Christian principles, where each child is valued as an individual.
-
Recognise the different needs and abilities and to provide appropriate teaching at each stage of development.
We don’t just concentrate on the basics; we offer a great variety of extra-curricular activities and present lessons in a fun and stimulating way.
We believe children should be safe and well supervised. Special attention has been paid to school security - coded locks on all external doors allow immediate exit, but prevent unauthorised access. Classroom assistants, playground supervisors and a generously staffed building provide extra supervision.
